REGGIE'S BIO

    Reggie is a very lovable German shepherd. He is named after Reggie White from the Green Bay Packers. As you may have seen in the photos link he is a huge dog and isn't full grown yet. He weighs over ninety five pounds but is gentle as a lamb. When you give him a tennis ball he will dribble it and work it with his paws like a soccer ball. He also uses the tip of his nose to toss it up in the air to catch. Pretty kewl, huh! When he needs some exercise he plays chase with the children.
    How Reggie became part of our family. One day when my sister was walking out the door for work, he walked into her house. She posted lost dog in the papers and around town but no one claimed him. At the time he weighed less than twenty pounds. She already had a dog and couldn't keep him so he went to the pound. The day before he was to be put to sleep she called and asked us if we would like to have a dog. Of course we said yes being that we didn't have any other pets. The interesting thing is that it was just after Christmas so Reggie was an extra special gift.

A DOG WAITS

A dog sits waiting in the cold autumn sun.
Too faithful to leave, too frightened to run.
He's been here for days now with nothing to do
But sit by the road, waiting for you.


He can't understand why you left him that day.
He thought you and he were stopping to play.
He's sure you'll come back, and that's why he stays.
How long will he suffer? How many more days?


His legs have grown weak, his throat's parched and dry.
He's sick now from hunger and falls, with a sigh.
He lays down his head and closes his eyes,
I wish you could see how a waiting dogs dies.
